Welcome to the Montair School website. At Montair we believe that our link to families and community members provides us with the foundation for the work we do with children, hence our school motto – Together We Can. Your involvement and support is an essential component of our school program.

As a standards-based school, we work hard to help all children meet or exceed our state and district content standards. It is our fundamental belief that all children can learn, but we also know that all children do not learn at the same rate or in the same way. Therefore, we work carefully to tailor our instruction to the meet the educational needs of each child. If you visit our classrooms, you will see that we use a variety of assessments, programs, and instructional strategies to ensure that all students are successful.

We believe it is equally important that our students also develop strong social skills. Children at Montair learn how to work successfully with their peers, how to set and assess personal goals, and how to resolve conflicts. Because of this work, we can provide a safe and nurturing educational environment in which all children can learn and grow.

We are proud that here at Montair School we have established a learning community – for our staff as well as our students. All of our teachers work in collaborative grade level teams to design a consistent, articulated academic program. We also work together on a regular basis to assess student work and to use that information to modify and improve our instructional practices. It is rewarding for all of us to work with colleagues who love children and are passionate about their own learning.
